My name is Bård Lindqvist, and I have studied three years at AHO, which is equivalent to a bachelor's degree in Architecture.
At the same time, I also have my own company, doing architectural visualizations and some smaller projects. This summer, I worked as a model builder/intern at Alliance Arkitekter in Oslo.
The project I wish to present is my semester project for the spring semester of 2010, which is a culture center in Groruddalen (the Grorud valley), in the eastern part of Oslo. My culture center is located at Stovner, which is close to the beginning of the North Corridor.
The culture center, approximately 12 000 square metres, is placed in a deserted lot in an otherwise highly densely populated area.
The terrain of the lot opened for the possibility that large parts of the room program (a movie theatre, rehearsal rooms and workshop) could be placed in a concrete foudation, with a park landscape on top.
Only the main building, with three concert halls, foyer and restaurant, emerges from the concrete deck.

Dear Bård - nice project! a good premise to this semester's course, both for its location and its surface approach to architecture ;-) Hope having worked with the Grorud valley gives you an extra insight to our area..definitely you will have the opportunity to work with the north of Oslo from a different perspective now..
ReplyDeleteI like that you show an eager to design. I aways think it's complicated to design roofscapes bedcause they are so super manmade and it brings up the question: Should it be designed as super manmade(garden), og should it look like a "natural" landscape. I think both can be right. One good concept that I like is Vogt landschaftarchitekten's project for Allianz Arena in Munich. There they collected more or less threatened gras species from the area around, and remade a very specific ecosystem on the roof.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with you work!
