Short intro

Hei!
My name is Lene and I’m born and brought up in Nannestad,
a small village in the proximity of Gardermoen.
Due to my roots, I have a certain local knowledge of the area we are supposed to develop.
This is my fourth year of master (architecture).

The pics posted below are from the main workshop during my fifth semester, working with a site at Ensjø, Oslo. It was a transformation project and I believe it to be in a different area than the one introduced this semester. I’m excited to explore the subjects that are new to me.
The task consisted of transforming a 13-floor office building into appartments with a public bath at the top floor. I was inspired by dynamic shapes sketched in concrete, wanting to incorporate the form in the building, discussing the aspects of housing concept.

  2. Hi Lene! Nice to see your work. It is interesting that you chose a transformation project, cause reformulating the characters of spaces within fixed costraints is very much what we are asked to do in the urban situations you will be confronted with.. So your attention to light situations and the atmospheric characters we give to the space we design can definitely be brought forward during this semester. And I also like your use of physical models! It is maybe for a pure graphic association (or perhaps not only that) that I thought of Philippe Rahm's projects by looking at your plans. Check them out if you don't know them already (he is btw teaching in a studio at AHO this semester) http://www.philipperahm.com/data/evaporation.html - he works a lot with natural light and seeks for a "physiological" relationship between space and its inhabitants (in relation to its humidity and temperatures for example)
