I’m Annisa from Indonesia. I’ll share a little bit about my background seeing that this will be my first post. Here goes…
I finished my bachelor degree in architecture in Parahyangan Catholic University, Bandung, Indonesia. My essay focused on building conservation which defined the relationship between building conservation and tourism. In short, the research tells us that the different styles of heritage building can attract many tourists in various ways of tour.
When I was doing my research, I joined “Bandung Heritage Society”, one of the Non-Governmental Organization in my city which conserve heritage buildings as well as natures. Another activity I did with BHS was conducting the trip to some interesting natural places.
After I graduated, I worked in a developer company “Bakrieland” and I became one of the architect who got involved in designing buildings (mostly hotel resorts), and also landscape projects.
This is one of my sketches I’ve designed for Bakrieland.

Anyway, I concerned about human spaces, and I will always try to design environments that connect the areas/buildings and human activities. I rather to feel like “People who makes me design something good” than “I design something good for people” ;)
Sampai jumpa!
Cool to see a project from your professional practice. It's quite a different setting than Romerike, where we will work this semester.
ReplyDeleteI really appreciate your concern for people.
Look forward to see your first assignment!

Very nice to see your project! I also like your concern with people.. Public space is going to be a big challenge in the are we will work with, where settlements have shifted from being planned satellite cities to a more contemporary form of "informal" suburbia.. Look forward to see your next work!
